2008-2009 WMSBF Board of Directors Elected

For Immediate Release… June 16, 2008, Grand Rapids, Mi… The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum (WMSBF) elected its Board of Directors who will work to continue West Michigan’s growing sustainable business movement.

Marylu Dykstra will serve as the Chair of the WMSBF. Ms. Dykstra is the founder of Sirius Resources LLC. Dykstra will share her expertise in developing organizational strategies, curriculum, marketing materials and green events with the WMSBF. Dr. Matthew Tueth of Aquinas College’s School for Sustainable Business will serve as the organization’s Vice Chair. Ron Blouw of Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Hueber will continue to serve as the organization’s Treasurer.

Newly elected members of the board include:

• Gayle DeBruyn, Co-owner of Lake Affect Design Studio and Kendall College of Art and Design • Levi Gardner, Integrated Architecture. • Rick Pulaski, Senior Project Manager and Principal at Nederveld, Inc. • Eric VanDellen, Sustainability Program Manager, Alticor, Inc. • Frank Schuller, Sales Manager, Allied Waste. • Bill Foley, Innovation Director of Advanced Production, Innovation Works & The Right Place Inc.. • Gabe Wing, Design for the Environment Manager, Herman Miller Inc. • Laura Rauwerda, Senior Environmental Analyst, Michigan Department of Environmental Quality

WMSBF’s new members will join an existing team of leaders including:

• Mark Lenz, Thompson, Coburn Fagel & Haber • Greg Metz, Lott3Metz Architecture • Dave Rinard, Steelcase, Inc. • Rachel Hood, West Michigan Environmental Action Council

West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum’s mission is to promote business practices that demonstrate environmental stewardship, economic vitality and social responsibility. The organization is an affiliated member group of the West Michigan Environmental Action Council. The WMSBF was founded in 1994 by area business leaders. Today the forum has over 100 member companies, representing a cross-section of area industries and businesses. The forum’s membership meets on the second Monday of each month, 12-2pm.
