Action ItemsFight for Michigan’s bright and balanced energy future! Our state’s Senators decided to pass a weak Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard (RPS) last month. Their policy only demands that 7% of the state’s energy will come from renewable resources by 2015. That 7% includes coal and energy efficiency. Help us call for 10% RPS standard by 2015 with additional energy efficiency standards and NO NEW COAL! Go to www.smokestackpatty.com to hold your State Senators accountable and fight for a better RPS package. Take action now and ensure environmental protection and economic opportunity for Michigan’s future! Clean Kent County - Every day an estimated 1 million gallons of untreated waste from toilets and household drains is discharged from Kent County’s failing septic systems. Clean Kent County is a campaign to improve Kent County’s efforts to address this growing issue. To learn more or get involved contact us at info@wmeac.org. |
